Since CRP's beginning in 2005, the riverbanks and shorelines of the Merrimack have gone from being heavily covered with various debris, such as appliances, mattresses, tires and cars (just to name a few types of garbage found along the river), to much improved states of being. BUT there is still SO MUCH TO DO ... much of which is ongoing retrieval of trash entering the waterway, caused not only by illegal dumping, but also by windblown debris and CSO's (combined sewage overflows). Much of this nonending conveyance of pollution contains plastic. Plastic does NOT leave the Environment and actually breaks down in the ecosystem into microplastics that dangerously attract and spread PFAS into the Environment.
We are always in need of ongoing donations from area businesses to support our project. The monies will go toward such items as boat maintenance, fuel, dumpsters and debris removal costs, etc.

Because of the nature of the clean-up, Clean River Project appreciates all community help which could help offset the expenses of operating the boats, boat repair, disposal of the rubbish pulled in from the river, and any other extraneous expenses.
Yearly Membership:

$15 for Children 12 Years and Under
